Well the short answer is: No. There should be a difference between products made for humans, and ones made for dogs.
Some differences between dog products and human products are:
Dosage: Dogs require different dosages than humans due to differences in metabolism and body size. What might be a suitable dose for a human could be too much or too little for a dog.
Ingredients: Human CBD oil might contain additional ingredients or additives that are not safe for dogs. Some human products may also contain flavors that dogs should not consume.
🐶 For Your Furry Friends: Our Natural Pet Oil line is specially crafted to cater to the specific needs of our dogs. From precise dosages that match their size and breed to dog-friendly flavors and safe terpenes, we've got your pup covered! 🐾 Because we know that when your pup is healthy and content, so are you.
🌿 True Natural Oils for Humans: We understand that wellness is a family affair, which is why we've also curated a range of CBD products under our True Natural Oils line, specially designed for humans. From supporting your own journey to well-being to experiencing the potential benefits of CBD, we've got you covered too.
💡 Why the Distinction Matters: Dogs and humans have unique needs and sensitivities. Our pet CBD products are meticulously crafted to prioritize your dog's health and happiness, while our human CBD products offer the same quality and care you'd expect from Natural Pet Oil. Because every member of your family deserves the very best.
Understanding CBD and Its Effects: CBD, short for cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive compound derived from the hemp plant. It interacts with the endocannabinoid system (ECS) in the body, which plays a crucial role in regulating various physiological functions. The ECS helps maintain balance and harmony, promoting overall well-being.
Factors Influencing CBD Onset in Dogs:
Administration Method: The method of CBD administration can affect how quickly it starts working. We at Natural Pet Oil always recommend the sublingual method for administration under the tongue, held for 60-90 seconds before swallowing if possible.
Dog's Metabolism: Just like humans, each dog has a unique metabolism. The metabolism can impact how quickly CBD is processed and utilized by the body. Factors such as age, size, and overall health can affect metabolism, ultimately influencing the time it takes for CBD to take effect.
Dosage: The dosage of CBD given to your dog can also play a role in the onset of effects. It's important to follow the recommended dosage guidelines provided by the CBD brand. Starting with a low dose and gradually increasing it allows you to find the optimal dosage for your dog's specific needs.
Condition Being Addressed: The specific condition you're addressing with CBD can also impact how long it takes to see results. Some dogs may experience immediate relief, while others may require more time for the CBD to build up in their system before noticeable effects are observed. Patience and consistency are key when using CBD for your pet.
Expected Timeframe and Observations: While there is no definitive answer to how long it takes for CBD to start working in dogs, many pet owners report seeing positive changes within a few days to a couple of weeks. However, it's important to note that every dog is unique, and individual responses may vary. Some dogs may respond faster, while others may require a longer adjustment period.
It's crucial to establish a routine and consistently administer CBD to your dog as directed. Keeping a journal or notes of your dog's behavior, symptoms, and any changes observed can help track the progress and determine the optimal dosage and timing for your furry friend.
Conclusion: CBD can be a valuable addition to your dog's wellness routine, offering potential benefits for various conditions. While the exact time it takes for CBD to start working in dogs can vary, most pet owners report observing positive changes within a few days to a couple of weeks. Factors such as administration method, metabolism, dosage, and the condition being addressed can influence the onset of effects. Remember, always consult with your veterinarian before introducing any new supplements to your dog's regimen.
At Natural Pet Oil, we understand the importance of your pet's health and well-being. Our CBD products are specially formulated with the highest quality ingredients to support your dog's vitality and promote a sense of balance. Start your pet's CBD journey today and give them the care they deserve.

The elevated levels of other drugs can result in intensified effects, including adverse reactions or even toxicity. Conversely, CBD itself may also be affected by this competition, altering its effectiveness or potency.

They also discuss what to expect when starting CBD. With different Cannabinoids in all their products, Rylee goes into the difference between THC/CBD/CBG/CBN, and why each one can be beneficial.
Robin then shares information on CBD dosage for pets while referencing different studies, and explaining the benefits seen in the each study.
Rylee then dives into the carrier oil for the True Natural Oils & Natural Pet Oil Products: MCT oil. Rylee explains why Medium Chain triglycerides are beneficial for the bioavailability of CBD & for managing energy.
Safety & Dosing is then spoken about by both Robin and Rylee in terms of the best way to take CBD, pharmaceutical drug interactions, how CBD is metabolized in the body, toxicity, and other safety concerns.
At the end, Clint speaks on testing and the quality of our products.

In the most simplistic terms, our Formulas are designed with a concentration to that can be begun dosing at ¼ of a dropper, and then increasing every 3 days or so until “The Sweet Spot” is reached. “The Sweet Spot” signifies the spot at which you do not notice an increase in benefits from taking a higher dosage. At that point, you reduce dosage to when you stopped seeing benefits.
We recommend starting at night, and then trying to incorporate into both Day + Night depending on desired results.
A low dosage of CBD is typically between 5-20mg per day. This may be suitable for individuals who are just starting with CBD or have a low body weight, or less symptoms to treat.
A high dosage of CBD can range from 50-150mg per day or more for Chronic Conditions.
The time it takes for CBD oil to take effect can vary depending on several factors, such as the method of consumption, the dosage, and the individual’s metabolism. Generally, when CBD oil is ingested orally, it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to feel the effects.
CBD works with your endocannabinoid system in an interesting way; the more you consume it, the more receptive your body becomes to it. It might take some people a couple of months of continuous CBD consumption in order to fully experience the benefits of the compound. For others, they may experience effects right away. You may have different experiences with CBD from your peers because each body’s biological makeup & balance within homeostasis is different.
Also to note: CBD does NOT make you high and you will probably not feel any immediate effects when taking it. Rather, you may gradually notice the absence of some of your ailments.
Sublingual consumption (placing the oil under the tongue) can lead to faster onset of effects as it is absorbed into the bloodstream more quickly.
Topical application of CBD oil may also take some time to show effects and can depend on the area of the body where it is applied. The back of the neck has the most receptors.
Research suggests that CBD can have a half-life of 18 to 32 hours, which means that it can take around four to five days for the compound to be eliminated from the body. However, the time it takes for CBD to build up in the bloodstream and become noticeable can depend on the individual’s body chemistry and the frequency and dosage of CBD consumption.
It is important to keep track of yours and your pet’s behavior and health before and after starting CBD oil to determine if it is helping.
A 2011 review article published in the journal Current Drug Safety titled “Safety and Side Effects of Cannabidiol, a Cannabis sativa Constituent.” summarized the existing preclinical and clinical studies on the safety and side effects of CBD and concluded that CBD is a safe and well-tolerated compound, even at high doses up to 1,500 mg/day, in humans.
No. In contrast to pharmaceutical antidepressants, CBD does not have addictive properties. You can start and stop using it at any time without side effects. In fact, CBD is even being tested to help treat addiction as stated here: Devries ands Schoffelmeer 2005; Mahler, Smith, and Berridge 2007, Gerdeman et al. 2003b
No. In 2000, there was a study published by The Kennedy Center of Rheumatology titled, “The Nonpsychoactive Cannabis Constituent Cannabidiol is an Oral Anti-arthritic Therapeutic in Murine Collagen-induced Arthritis”. The study reports that “prolonged treatment with CBD does not induce tolerance, a phenomenon often observed by cannabinoids”. This means that in contrast to many Pharmaceuticals, you will not develop a tolerance, or a reduction in efficacy as you use Cannabinoids in the treatment of your ailments. Additionally, the study ends by summarizing, “all of this suggests that CBD may be valuable in the treatment of other chronic inflammatory diseases as well.”
It’s important to take note of small changes in health to see how CBD is affecting you – good and bad. As with any supplement or medication, CBD can have side effects, but they are generally mild.
For humans& pets, some potential side effects of CBD include:
It is important to note that the side effects of CBD are generally mild and rare, but can vary depending on the individual and the dose.
The use of CBD in children is a controversial topic, and there is limited research on its safety and effectiveness in children. For us, we use the same logic for children as we recommend for puppies: unless there is a specific condition you are looking to treat, let the child/puppy mature and equilibrate to their environment before providing a supplement.
In some cases, CBD has been prescribed by healthcare providers for children with severe epilepsy or other medical conditions, but this is done on a case-by-case basis.

This month we have 2 Pet(s) of the Month! Meet Harper and Finn. Read below about them in their own words (we swear they wrote it!)
Hi Everybody! My name is Harper Moon and I am a 137 pound Landseer Newfoundland sweet little girl! I have dual elbow dysplasia that was treated with stem cell surgery (on my 3rd birthday mind you). My parents have been giving me Natural Pet Oil Special Blend on my breakfast each morning and it has really helped with pain and stiffness. Pain pills give me an upset tummy, and this doesn’t!
Yo what’s up? Big Finn here. I’m a 7 year old Blenheim Cavalier King Charles boy. I’m the 25 pound boss, and don’t forget it! Sometimes my parents give me Natural Pet Oil Special Blend on treats before 4th of July, New Year’s Eve, and certain outings. I like it because it helps me to realize that I don’t need to tell everything that I’m the boss.

Moose gets CBD oil daily, starting on August 17th.
I have gone from thinking I had less than 24 hours together to now celebrating one month and counting of quality time together.
On August 17th I thought I had less than 24 hours with Moose. He had to be carried into the Vets office on a gurney. We did an X-ray and found an enlarged spleen and tumor....a death sentence. Moose 13yrs 4 months old.
After the X-ray, I asked to see Moose as I realized I needed to put him down. They were able to walk Moose to my room. And spending time together I realized he had enough energy to say good bye to the pack.
It wasn't his time yet to cross the rainbow bridge. I asked that they give him fluids and made an appointment to return with him the next day to put him down. I explained I was going to take he and my pack to my pool. Moose's happy place to say good bye. The vet was concerned I would let him go into the pool, but I explained he would have a life jacket on and I would be with him if he got in trouble.
Well Moose went into the pool. Sat on the steps and barked, then swam. I was taking pictures and crying but so happy. That night I got Moose to eat a little...his first in 3 days. I got him to take some CBD oil. The next morning Moose could walk. I offered some breakfast and he ate.
His energy was returning. We went to the vet, but not to be put down, but to get fluids. Followed with pool time. Moose has been ready for pool time daily.
I feel very blessed. His only med is the CBD oil, fluids, pool play and an endorphin and adrenalin boost daily. These elements have returned a quality of life to Moose so he is ready for pool play and not the bridge.
Thank you Natural Pet Oil for letting us have more time together. It's a priceless gift.
Thank you!

On Oct. 27th I went to Frosted Faces Foundation in Ramona, CA and met with Kelly Smisek (Executive Director) to foster a dog named Spike. All I new was he was a 12 year old Pit bull and had been in the rescue program for 5 years and 7 months. Medically, he had Hemangiosarcoma a cancer of the blood vessels. He was dog aggressive but kid and people friendly. I picked this crazy guy up and on the way home knew I had met my match. As soon as we walked in my house he ran outside back inside on top of the coffee table, couch and anywhere he felt he could go. We bonded quickly and within a few days I was his person and he was my boy Spike. All through November we continued to figure out each others likes and needs. Went on walks and just spent time together in the backyard enjoying freedom and him dominating the entire bed.
On December 10th something was wrong, I along with his many friends from the rescue worried and thought the worse. I rushed him in to be seen at the 24 hour vet. They looked him over and said it is more than likely his cancer attacking his spleen, to watch him the rest of the night and take him in to be seen the next day. I went in to pick him up, and the vet met me in the lobby said there was a change in plans, while she waited she did a quick scan of his lungs and they are full. They proceeded to drain 600 ml from each lung that night. Wondering what is causing this the next day we did all kinds of imaging, ultra sounds and found nothing that could be causing that amount of fluid.
Our walks became much shorter just up the street and back. On December 29th I stopped to talk to my neighbor Clint (Co-Founder of Natural Pet Oil). As I told him what was going on and through my tears feared my boy Spike only had a few weeks at best. The vets did not want to keep tapping him and we had no idea what was going on. He offered me a bottle of Natural Pet Oil – Special Blend oil and said give this a try. Of course I wanted to give him anything that might help. I reached out to get approval from Kelly before giving it to Spike. It was approved and I started with a real small dose, On New Years Eve I rushed him back to the 24 hour vet. It was decided that there was nothing more we could do, to continue to tap his lungs is painful and not healthy for him and without a cause, there is no treatment. I mentioned I had just started him on Hemp Oil oil and they recommended I up his dose. When they brought him out to me I lost all control of my emotions and sat on the floor holding Spike crying as if he was going to die in my arms at that moment. I looked around and there was not a dry eye in the room. I was breaking and needed more than there is nothing more we can do.
Then is started to happen, the next few days I gave him a bigger dose of the Hemp oil and I noticed he was breathing better and better. Here he was that crazy happy dog I brought home in Oct. I was not asking questions just asking for more Hemp oil. He went from struggling to breath every few days to a whole week, then another and another. I was amazed and so happy. He went 6 weeks before he needed medical attention again. This time they got even more fluid out and said they would not tap him again, unless we did more to figure out what was going on. The rescue reached out to it's many followers to see if anyone has ever heard of anything. In doing so, the majority said to get a CT scan as others offered to pay for it. Off we went to get a CT scan, yep you guessed it, there is no reason for his lungs to be filling up. That was about 3 weeks ago now and we are continuing to give him Lasik, Prednisone and Hemp oil. I can't thank Clint enough for the introduction to the Natural Pet Oil – Special Blend Full Spectrum Hemp oil, it is my opinion it is the main reason Spike is still alive today. It is not the cure and will not stop the fact he has cancer spreading in his little body, but is has provided him with a better quality of life and given him more time with his new person and me more time with my boy Spike.

]]>Boomer is a 7 1/2 year old American Bulldog we've had since he was approximately 6 months old. He had been walking and running with my hubby for around 4 years when we noticed he started limping off his right front leg. We thought he had sprained it and tried to have him rest it but every time he resumed running, the limping would get worse. We took him to a vet who informed us that Boomer could have cancer in his ankle or Valley Fever, but the biopsy of his ankle was inconclusive. Since that day, he's only been on walks and the swelling has gotten slightly worst.
We started Boomer on Natural Pet Oil on Feb 24th so, at this time, we're a week in. My hubby noticed this week that Boomer pulls him more on their walks than he had been and, here's a BIG one, when we leave, Boomer NO LONGER scratches the paint off the door! (Their breed has separation anxiety)
Much love to Natural Pet Oil!
